VAS Acquires a Boeing 777-200 for Teardown and Surplus Parts Distribution

Boca Raton, FL, April 11, 2017 – VAS Aero Services, a global leader in aviation logistics and aftermarket services, announced it has acquired a Boeing 777-200 aircraft from, The Boeing Aircraft Holding Company (BAHC), a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company that manages Boeing owned and used aircraft.

The aircraft (serial number 27360) was previously operated by China Southern Airlines. VAS will manage the end of life dismantlement of the aircraft and provide aftermarket sales and distribution of the surplus parts through VAS’s worldwide 777 customer base. This is the third Boeing 777 aircraft in the last five months that VAS has acquired.

The aircraft will be disassembled at Victorville, California. VAS will harvest major assemblies and components from the airframe to support its worldwide OEM, airline and MRO customer base.

“We are delighted to assist The Boeing Company in retiring this aircraft from service and reclaiming its serviceable assemblies and components for further use by our valued customers in our global aftermarket network,” said Tommy Hughes, VAS Aero Services CEO. “As a ‘Best Partner’ to most of the world’s leading airlines and aircraft leasing companies, VAS serves as a valuable resource for optimizing their return on investment by extending the life of serviceable parts and assemblies to help keep aging aircraft airworthy.”
