Goshawk successfully issues an unsecured USD95 million Schuldschein

Goshawk Aviation Limited (“Goshawk”) has completed its debut unsecured USD95 million Schuldschein issuance. Goshawk is the first aircraft leasing company and the first Irish company to access the Schuldschein market, underlining Goshawk’s growing reputation as an innovator in the aircraft leasing space.

Following its debut in the capital markets with a USD231 million US Private Placement in August 2016, the Schuldschein has allowed Goshawk to further diversify its funding base to include European based institutions.

Launched at USD75 million, the issue was significantly oversubscribed and was increased to USD95 million to meet investor demand. The issuance consists of 3- and 5-year tranches and proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes.

The issue was arranged by Commerzbank, Landesbank Hessen-Thüringen and NORD/LB.

Anand Ramachandran, CFO of Goshawk commented “Innovation and diversity are two of the key foundations of our strategic financing plan and we are very pleased to have achieved that with our inaugural Schuldschein issuance, a first by an aircraft lessor.”

Goshawk was established in November 2013 as an aircraft leasing platform focused on building a portfolio of young, new technology, in-production aircraft with a large and diversified asset-type and operator base. With support from its shareholders, Chow Tai Fook Enterprises Limited and NWS Holdings Limited, the Goshawk portfolio has grown to 90 committed aircraft since inception with a total asset value of approximately USD4.3 billion. Goshawk is owned 50% each by CTFE and NWS Holdings.
