Nordica to launch a new route to Hamburg and add new flights next year

The Estonian air operator Nordica will launch a new route to Hamburg in the spring of 2017. The carrier will also add flights to Brussels, Stockholm, Vienna and Oslo as well as third weekly flight to Odessa during the summer season. The company will increase its flight schedule between Tallinn and Warsaw in cooperation with strategic partner LOT Polish Airlines.

According to Jaan Tamm, chairman of the management board of Nordica, the company wants to offer Estonian people additional flights at convenient times of day to a number of popular destinations. “We have been planning to fly to Hamburg, the largest city in North Germany, for some time now and are pleased to turn that intention into a reality next spring. We are operating now all our six CRJ Series aircrafts and will add a couple more to our fleet next year. This will enable us to increase the frequency of flights and gradually launch new routes,” Tamm explained about Nordica’s plans for the near future. The flight schedule also includes last summer’s popular seasonal routes to Split, Rijeka, Berlin and Nice.
“Vilnius Airport is scheduled for extensive reconstruction next summer and will be closed for service. During the period of construction works, from 14 July to 18 August, Nordica will fly from Tallinn to Kaunas, the second largest city in Lithuania,” added Mr. Tamm.

In 2017, the number of Nordica’s flights from Tallinn are expected to increase by a total of 25%. The company is planning to operate more than 90% of the flights by using its own fleet of aircrafts. Nordica carried 307,606 passengers in the first ten months of 2016. The share of actual flights flown and those departing on time and within 15 minutes, increased in October to 99.7% and 93.3%, respectively. The improvement in quality indicators is largely linked to an increase in the share of flights operated by Nordica’s own CRJ Series aircrafts and its own cabin crews.

Nordica flies all year round from Tallinn to Munich, Brussels, Oslo, Amsterdam, Kiev, Trondheim and Vilnius. In the summer season, flights to Berlin, Odessa, Rijeka, Split and Nice are added. Nordica also continues to operate the Örebro (Sweden) – Copenhagen – Groningen (the Netherlands) route.
