Aerolineas Argentinas: Presentation of the Operational Plan 2016

The President of Aerolineas Argentinas, Dr. Mariano Recalde presented this afternoon the Annual Operational Plan scheduled for 2016, which will offer its passengers new routes and frequencies.

Recalde said, “Since the State took it over, the company managed in recent years to reverse a situation of terminal crisis into another of strong growth, with a very favorable outlook. So today, we present with pride and satisfaction the Operational Plan 2016, and future programming, with the certainty to leave our successors in December 10, 2015, a much better company than we received in 2008”.

During 2016, new flights will be launched between provinces without passing through Buenos Aires, making the domestic network even more federal next year. It will connect the interior of the country with the Atlantic coast in the next months of January and February with one daily flight between Cordoba and Mar del Plata, 3 weekly flights between Tucuman and Mar del Plata and 3 weekly flights between Viedma and Bariloche from April.

In turn, 3 weekly flights between Mendoza and Mar del Plata will be added as from July and one daily flight between Bariloche and Mendoza as from September.

One daily flight between Cordoba and Ushuaia will also be added to the Aerolíneas Argentinas network as from August 2016 and 7 weekly flights between La Rioja and Catamarca as from September of the same year, doubling the frequencies between the two cities.

Thus, Aerolineas Argentinas, which today operates 22 air segments without passing through Buenos Aires, will increase the internal connectivity in 2016 offering 29 intersegments.
As for the international network, new flights to Brazil will be added both from Buenos Aires and from the provinces. During high season, Aerolineas Argentinas will operate from Cordoba to the cities of Rio de Janeiro and Florianópolis; will increase the frequencies between Buenos Aires and destinations such as Florianópolis, Porto Seguro and Salvador de Bahia. Flights to Brasilia and Belo Horizonte will operate from Aeroparque.

From March to December 2016, there will be new routes and frequencies to regional destinations, adding a weekly flight between Sao Paulo and Bariloche in July (winter season). Regarding international destinations, there will be more flights to Punta Cana, Rome, Barcelona, Mexico incorporating Quito and Guayaquil in December next year.
