Falko Regional Aircraft Limited adds five Embraer aircraft to its portfolio from SMBC Aviation Capital

London, August 17, 2015 – Falko Regional Aircraft Limited (Falko), a market leading aircraft operating leasing and asset management company focused on the regional aircraft sector, today announced that it has added the first of five (5) Embraer aircraft to its portfolio. The aircraft, a combination of ERJ145 and E170s manufactured between 2001 and 2005, are being acquired from SMBC Aviation Capital, the world’s third largest aircraft lessor, and are currently on lease to a number of operators in Europe and the Middle East. The purchase of all the aircraft is expected to be completed by the end of August.

“We are delighted to expand our portfolio of Embraer manufactured aircraft through this acquisition of a small portfolio from SMBC Aviation Capital. This further expands and diversifies our portfolio through the addition of a new product type in the ERJ145 as well as growing our E-Jet portfolio to 6 aircraft. The deal also adds three new lessees to our customer base and expands this into the Middle East region. This transaction again illustrates the continuing development and growth of Falko as a key player in the regional aircraft market.” said Mark Hughes, Executive Vice President – Corporate Finance, Falko Regional Aircraft Limited. “We are very pleased to have completed this transaction with SMBC Aviation Capital and look forward to adding more aircraft to our portfolio in 2015.”

“We are pleased to be expanding our list of investor clients through this transaction with Falko. Selling aircraft has always been a key part of SMBC Aviation Capital’s strategy, and over the years we have sold more than 265 commercial aircraft valued at over $8.3bn”, said Peter Barrett, CEO of SMBC Aviation Capital.
