AWAS delivers third planned new 737-800 passenger aircraft to Ethiopian Airlines

AWAS announced today that it has delivered an additional new 737-800 passenger aircraft to its long-time customer, Ethiopian Airlines. This is the third and final of three new aircraft to deliver from a deal agreed in 2014 where AWAS purchased the aircraft from the airline that Ethiopian had previously ordered directly from the manufacturer, and then lease them back to the airline.

As part of this agreement, AWAS also assisted Ethiopian with the fleet transition of two 767-300ER widebody passenger aircraft that no longer met its longer-term business plans. AWAS has deep expertise in transitioning and upgrading aircraft to new airline customers, jurisdictions and business models…creating a timely and profitable solution for all involved parties.
