AWAS delivers two 737-800 passenger aircraft on lease to SunExpress Airlines

AWAS announced today that it has delivered two 737-800 passenger aircraft to new customer SunExpress Airlines. These aircraft come from AWAS’ existing fleet. SunExpress, founded in October 1989 as a subsidiary of Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa, carries more than seven million passengers per year and operates with a long-term commitment to the traffic between their home markets of Turkey and Europe (mainly Germany).

The home base of SunExpress is in Antalya on the Turkish Riviera. The second most important base is the hub Izmir on the Aegean coast. The German branch office is located in Gateway Gardens near Frankfurt Airport, which is the base of SunExpress Deutschland GmbH, the German subsidiary of the company.
