London Luton Airport and VLM Airlines announce the return of the popular Waterford route

9 March 2015 — London Luton Airport (LLA) and Belgian regional carrier VLM Airlines have announced the return of services to Waterford in stunning south east Ireland. VLM Airlines will operate the route, offering passengers the flexibility of a twice daily service Monday to Friday and a daily service at the weekend. Flights are on sale now and bookings can be made through www.flyvlm.com.

VLM Airlines joins the Airport at a time of real growth with record breaking passenger numbers choosing to use LLA due to the ease of access from London and the surrounding regions and the great value air services on offer. The growth in demand for the Airport is being met by a £100million transformation project that will increase annual capacity from 12 million to 18 million passengers.

Arthur White, CEO of VLM Airlines, said the carrier very much looks forward to taking on the London Luton – Waterford route. “We’re very confident there is a sustainable demand for reliable and convenient direct air services between London and the south east of Ireland. The route is an excellent addition to VLM’s expanding scheduled network.”

Simon Harley, Business Development Manager, LLA commented: ‘We are delighted to welcome VLM to the growing number of airlines choosing London Luton. We work continuously to expand the Airport’s route network to ensure passengers have a great choice of destinations and four new airlines and an additional 12 routes for 2015 is testament to that. We are confident in the demand for services to Waterford and looking forward to re-establishing the link between London Luton and the south east of Ireland.’
