New FL Technics’ MRO centre in Kaunas welcomes first clients

FL Technics, a global provider of comprehensive aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul services, has announced about the successful completion of works rendered to its first clients in the new maintenance base in Kaunas, Lithuania. Since receiving all the necessary certificates, the MRO provider has already completed a set of maintenance works on four aircraft, including the first C-check.

Following the issuance of its EASA Part 145 certificate, the new FL Technics’ 8000 sq. m. maintenance base in Kaunas, Lithuania has already completed scheduled maintenance works for four aircraft. The company’s specialists have successfully performed a comprehensive set of MRO works, which included a C-check, hydraulic Landing Gear repairs, NDT checks, RT replacement and paint, as well as other services. Currently the hangar is ready to welcome its fifth aircraft for another C-check later this month.

“The completed set of works not only shows that our new maintenance facility in Martynas Grigalavicius, Head of FL Technics aircraft maintenance base in KaunasKaunas is already capable of operating at a full capacity, but also proves the project to be fully strategically justified. Although the European market has already got a well-established MRO infrastructure, the demand for cost effective one-stop-shop MRO solutions is still strong. FL Technics is here to offer exactly that for the carriers in the region as well as other clients from the East and the West,” shares Martynas Grigalavicius, the Head of FL Technics Kaunas Base Maintenance Department.

The capabilities of the new MRO centre are oriented towards servicing all major types of modern aircraft, operated by European carriers, including such modern aircraft as Boeing 787 Dreamliner or wide body Boeing 747s. The new hangar allows servicing up to five Airbus A320s or other types of similar size aircraft simultaneously. Following the full implementation of the investment strategy, the new FL Technics base in Kaunas offers a full range of MRO support, including component painting, A-to-D Checks, engine and landing gear replacement, component and composite repair, NDT, cabin refurbishment and other services. The company’s overall investment into the new MRO centre totals almost USD 15 million.
