FLYBE ANNOUNCES NEW YEAR ROUND ROUTE BETWEEN GLASGOW AND SHANNON

Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline, has today announced its latest brand new route from Glasgow Airport that will offer a thrice weekly service on Wednesday, Friday and Sundays to Shannon, Ireland from May 1st . Seats are available for booking now at www.flybe.com from £36.99 (€46) one way including taxes and charges.

The brand new year-round service is expected to be particularly popular with leisure travellers wishing to visit Ireland this year to take part in the country’s ‘Year of Welcome’, The Gathering. Shannon has long-standing cultural affinities with Glasgow and the business sector is also expected to welcome this important link from Scotland to the Irish city, home to a large cluster of North American investment and to the subsidiary offices of many global market leaders.

Simon Lilley, Flybe’s Director of Marketing comments: “Flybe is committed to developing further its route network out of Glasgow. We have every confidence that this additional new service will prove successful in offering an attractive and affordable way for travellers to access this growing business and leisure destination that is widely regarded as the West of Ireland’s premier gateway.”

Adds Mr Lilley: “Our new service to Shannon will further complement our already extensive schedule to and from Glasgow Airport that now features a total of nine routes and a total choice of up to 312 flights each week. We look forward to welcoming our first passengers on board in May and would advise people to book early to take advantage of the lowest possible fares.”
